About Croatian House

About Croatian House

Built here. Held open. Croatian House is a place for Brisbane to gather, with Croatian roots, five distinct spaces and one team behind every event. Weddings, working days, cultural celebrations, farewells and festivals all belong under the same roof and across the grounds.

A place with history

Built by a community

Croatian House grew from Brisbane's Croatian community, which has gathered since 1952. Families a long way from where they began wanted a place to mark a wedding, farewell a life, pass on their language and share the food they knew. They made that place together.

The founding members’ names remain on the wall of Founders’ Foyer. Guests pass them on the way into today's weddings, conferences, cultural days and family occasions, connecting every new gathering to the people who first opened the doors.

A house with Croatian roots, held open for everybody else's occasions.

Built for gathering

Day, night and the moments between

The house now carries weddings, christenings, conferences, training days, cultural events, school formals, performances, sporting carnivals, wakes and long lunches. A foyer for forty, a room for eighty, a banquet for eight hundred or five acres outdoors all belong to the same place.

One house, one team

Everything under one roof

Croatian House caters and pours its own. The kitchen, bar, staff and room come together in one booking, with menus developed around the occasion. Hosts have one team to speak with before the event and one team in the building when doors open.

That standard is practical: the room is checked, service is close by and the people who can solve a problem are already there.

The spaces

Five ways to gather

From a foyer for forty to five acres of open ground, each space has a distinct role. Book one, pair two or bring the whole property into the plan, with the same Croatian House team running throughout.

What guides the house

Care made practical

01

Continuity

Croatian heritage stays visible in the foyer, in the food and in the way the house continues to gather people.

02

Attention

A room is walked before doors open. Glasses, linen, temperature, sound and every chair are checked by the team running the event.

03

Welcome

The name on the door is Croatian. The occasions held inside belong to families, organisations and communities from across Brisbane.

The next gathering starts here

Explore the five spaces, arrange an inspection or tell the venue team what the day needs to do. An enquiry starts the conversation; it does not confirm a booking.
